The Sacrament of Confirmation is a vital step in the journey of Catholic faith. It is a sacrament that strengthens the grace received at Baptism and deepens the relationship with the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, individuals affirm their commitment to the Catholic faith and are empowered to live as active members of the Church.
Generally, children celebrate Confirmation in eighth grade, provided that they have satisfied the diocesan two-year faith formation requirement. For more information about preparing your child for the Sacrament of Confirmation, see our Youth Formation page.
If you have questions about being confirmed in the Catholic faith as an adult, see our OCIA page
