The Diocese of Bridgeport requires that children receive two years of faith formation prior to receiving sacraments. At this time, our students celebrate the Confirmation in 8th grade, provided that they have satisfied the diocesan two-year faith formation requirement.
Attendance is mandatory. If your child is unable to attend class for any reason, they will be marked absent. In such cases, we will send home work to be done in lieu of the class. If the homework is completed and returned to us, we will change that absence to present ex post facto. We permit each child two absences throughout the year. All other absences must be made up by completing the home work. If your child has more than two absences they will not be eligible to move on to the next year or to receive their sacrament until such absences have been made up.
Confirmation classes generally will meet biweekly, on Tuesdays from 5:00-5:45 PM and Sundays following the 5:00 PM Mass until 7:30 PM. Pizza or similar dinner will be provided at the beginning of the Sunday classes. Students attending the Sunday class are encouraged to attend the 5:00 PM Teen Mass. Students are permitted to attend either the Tuesday or Sunday session in any given week, but please first check the dates and times of classes on our calendar page.
