The Diocese of Bridgeport strongly encourages students to enroll in faith formation consecutively from Kindergarten onward and currently requires that children receive, at a minimum, two consecutive years of faith formation prior to receiving sacraments.
At this time, our students celebrate both First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in the spring of second grade and Confirmation in the spring of eighth grade, provided that they have satisfied the diocesan two-year faith formation requirement.
Attendance is mandatory. If your child is unable to attend class for any reason, they will be marked absent. In such cases, we will send home work to be done in lieu of the class. If the homework is completed and returned to us, we will change that absence to present ex post facto. We permit each child two absences throughout the year. All other absences must be made up by completing the home work. If your child has more than two absences they will not be eligible to move on to the next year or to receive their sacrament until such absences have been made up.
Classes for K-2nd grade will generally take place biweekly, either on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 PM or Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00 PM. Classes on both days are followed by an optional children’s choir practice from 5:00- 5:45 PM. Please see the calendar page for more details on class dates.
