Music is at the heart of our celebrations, one of the primary ways we worship and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
Each year, our volunteer singers and professional core of cantors sing at nearly 300 services, including the celebrations of
Christmas, Confirmation of our young adults, and the great Holy Week liturgies culminating in Easter, and in our
Concert Series as part of our Festival Choir and Ensemble.
Several choirs comprise a graded music program for those of all ages and abilities. See below and/or click here for descriptions of each choir.
Traditional Choir: 10:30 AM Sunday
Our Traditional Choir is a 20-voice Adult choir which sings an impressive array of music from plain Chant to Renaissance, to Baroque and Classical works, as well as Contemporary composers and music from around the world. The choir sings a major anthem each Sunday, accompanied by piano, organ and guest instrumentalists. This choir rehearses immediately following the 10:30 AM Mass, from 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM. To learn more and to schedule an audition, E-MAIL Dr. Liya Petrides.
Contemporary Choir: 9:00 AM Sunday
Our Contemporary Choir, directed by Rita Lapcevic, sings contemporary music accompanied by piano, guitar, drums and flute. They rehearse on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM immediately after the 9:00 AM Family Mass St. Catherine’s Church, Room A. No audition is necessary; E-MAIL Rita Lapcevic to sign up.
Our Festival Choir, comprised of members of the congregation and the greater Greenwich community, often accompanied by instrumentalists, sing an outstanding series of concerts each year, including performances of Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Rachmaninoff's Vespers, Vivaldi's Gloria, Rutter’s Requiem and Bach’s cantatas. The choir also participates in joint concerts and services at neighboring churches and temples.
Our Cherub Choir offers boys and girls, in Grades K through 3, the opportunity to participate in our Music Ministry. Led by Tracey Martineau and accompanied by Rita Lapcevic, they meet on Sundays from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM in church and sing at the 9:00 AM Mass several times throughout the year.
Our Teen Choir is for boys and girls in Middle School and High School. We welcome both singers and musicians to provide music for the 5:00 PM Mass on Sundays during the year. The group is accompanied by piano, electric bass, and drums. Additional instruments are welcome and encouraged to join. They practice just prior to Mass at 4:00 PM.

Members of the Camerata are young musicians currently learning to play an instrument. They appear solo or in ensembles at our liturgies and concerts throughout the year. E-MAIL Dr. Liya Petrides to sign up.
Each year, our parish presents a concert series, including performances by our Festival Choir, Parish Camerata, and many guest musicians. The concerts sponsored by St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes Friends of Music, are free and open to the public. Donations are welcome. See our website for the list of upcoming events. To join our Friends of Music, E-MAIL Dr. Liya Petrides.
Please consider joining St. Catherine—St. Agnes Friends of Music which ensures the maintenance and growth of our Music Ministries and Concert Series. The members receive complimentary tickets for all events, according to their level of membership.
